This is the second edition in our exclusive collaboration series, once again we teamed up Swedish bladesmith Fredrik Spåre to create this limited release Honyaki k-tip Gyuto. The design brings a very classic, Japanese K-Tip profile with elegant sweeping lines together with some very contemporary western geometry.
This is a k-tip that makes sense, it takes advantage of the k-tip profile giving the user a confidence instilling, rigid spine, which makes for a satisfyingly stable cutting feel on the board. With a needle like tip, which still tapers down to 0.5mm thickness and is perfect for detail work. The edge profile is about 40% flat, followed by perfect curve towards the tip. It’s a smooth operator and perfect for just about any task.
Like our previous collaborations with Fredrik Spåre this edition features the Rokaku Hanmaru or hex/round handle shape. The angled shoulders provide the perfect tactile feedback for orienting the blade and the round under side is comfortable in the hand. A rich walnut has been paired with the classic Fredrik Spåre, hammer dented brass bolster.
A proud addition to our on going MCX collaboration series. We hope you love this new edition as much as we do.

Product Care
Product Care
Cleaning: Clean by hand with warm water. Avoid wetting the handle when possible.
Sharpening: We advise using whetstones to sharpen your knives and a honing rod or steel to maintain the burr between sharpening sessions.
Reactive Steels: Reactive steels like Aogami Super, Apex Ultra or premium reactive German and Swedish steels are susceptible to rust if not properly cared for. Keep the knife dry between uses and when storing for longer periods, wiping the blade with Tsubaki oil or another food-safe oil is a wise choice. A patina can be a beautiful personal feature on your knife and helps to stop rust forming.
Handle Care: For non-stabilised wooden handles, apply Tsubaki oil or another food-safe oil from time to time. Food-safe wax can be applied to both stabilised and non-stabilised wooden handles. Never apply hot wax or oil as you risk warping or damaging the handle.
