A vibrant and contemporary styled 175mm petty/utility knife from bladesmith Martin Huber. The blade is forged from in-house made 24-layer Damascus steel, a combination of 1.2842, 75Ni8 and C100. The result is a very premium steel, suitably hard for a tough edge and featuring a beautiful, high contrast wave pattern. At the spine the blade features a small amount of brute de forge, giving the steel a nice textured feel at the pinch point.
A k-tip profiled knife with a stiff, relatively consistent spine thickness and a classic petty edge profile. A 42mm blade height for a decent amount of knuckle clearance makes this a very versatile and nimble little blade, at home in the kitchen or at the table next to a block of hard cheese.
Martin’s signature tapered Rokkaku Hanmaru handle feels great in the hand with the facetted shoulders giving the user a perfectly indexing point to pivot the blade for detail work. The handle is shaped from a vibrant stabilised piece of popular burl, which is paired with carbon fibre spacer and G10 bolster for a unique contemporary look.

Product Care
Product Care
Cleaning: Clean by hand with warm water. Avoid wetting the handle when possible.
Sharpening: We advise using whetstones to sharpen your knives and a honing rod or steel to maintain the burr between sharpening sessions.
Reactive Steels: Reactive steels like Aogami Super, Apex Ultra or premium reactive German and Swedish steels are susceptible to rust if not properly cared for. Keep the knife dry between uses and when storing for longer periods, wiping the blade with Tsubaki oil or another food-safe oil is a wise choice. A patina can be a beautiful personal feature on your knife and helps to stop rust forming.
Handle Care: For non-stabilised wooden handles, apply Tsubaki oil or another food-safe oil from time to time. Food-safe wax can be applied to both stabilised and non-stabilised wooden handles. Never apply hot wax or oil as you risk warping or damaging the handle.
