All MCx lines

Oliver Märtens × Benjamin Kamon

MCx Oel × Kamon

Performance first. Everything else follows. That's the agreement behind this line — a collaboration of three, built on a shared obsession with how a knife cuts and how it's made, where beauty matters but always comes second to performance and build quality. The precision of a Swiss watch, made to last generations. A takedown construction that disassembles in your hands, every part precise, nothing decorative for its own sake. This level of quality is rare, and we make it in limited editions only. New editions are released in limited numbers — join the waitlist to secure a future allocation.

Edition 03Santoku Edition 03

This one began with a question: what if we didn't make another gyuto? We toyed with a plus-sized nakiri, but the conversation with the MCx community kept pointing somewhere else — toward a santoku. So a santoku it is.

Our first two editions were dark, classic, deliberately bold. Edition 03 moves the other way. A smaller, nimbler blade asked for a lighter hand throughout — so the profile, the materials, and the handle design have all shifted with it. Expect something cleaner and more subtle: lighter in colour, lighter in the hand, quick and agile on the board, with the same obsession over performance and build quality that defines the line. The same three minds, a completely different feel.

The blades are finished, and Edition 03 releases soon. It won't be made in large numbers — join the waitlist now to secure a future allocation and be first to know the moment it goes live.

The concept

Performance, Precision and Restraint

This collaboration works because the three of us want the same things. We share an almost obsessive focus on performance — the conviction that a knife is only worth making if it cuts beautifully and keeps cutting. We share a fascination with clean, minimalist design, with the discipline of Bauhaus and modern design where nothing is present that doesn't need to be. We all love the techie character of a takedown handle, the industrial-cool of an object engineered to come apart and go back together with precision. And we share a refusal to compromise on quality, a belief that premium means every detail is considered and every decision is earned. None of this had to be negotiated. It's simply where the three of us already lived, and discovering that alignment is what made the partnership inevitable.

That shared sensibility is what you hold in the finished knives. They aren't a set of individual contributions sitting next to each other — they're the expression of a single point of view, performance-first and quietly precise, with beauty that comes from function rather than being laid on top of it. Every piece we develop together carries those values: the obsession with how it cuts, the restraint in how it looks, the engineering you feel the moment you pick it up. That unity is the whole reason this work succeeds. We're not three people defending three corners of a project — we're three people chasing the same idea of what a knife should be, and making it together. That's what an MCx line is, and it's why these knives could only have come from this collaboration.
