Made to Order

The Made to Order collection brings together a small group of knives produced one at a time, shaped by the pace and discipline of true handwork rather than stock cycles.

Each piece is completely handmade, with lead times typically ranging from three to six months. Each knife is made to order. Please allow 3–6 months. Whether from Birch & Bevel or selected partner makers, every knife is built with close attention to geometry, balance, and cutting feel.

This slower process allows each detail to be resolved properly. Edge stability, taper, and overall control are not rushed decisions, but part of a considered build that translates directly to performance on the board.

Materials and design will vary by maker, but the principle remains consistent—tools made with intent, where steel, form, and ergonomics come together through careful, deliberate work.

Once your order is placed, your knife enters the maker’s schedule, progressing through careful shaping, refinement, and final finishing before inspection and dispatch.

For the buyer, Made to Order is less about immediacy and more about alignment. The wait reflects the process, and the result is a knife that feels composed in hand, built with clarity of purpose and a lasting sense of ownership.
