Molecular gastronomy is a sub-discipline of food science (cooking) that seeks to understand the transformative effects that physics, and chemistry have on various ingredients during the cooking process.
At Modern Cooking we see Molecular Gastronomy as a method of enhancing the cooking and eating experience from three perspectives. We believe that modernist methods can help us to be more social, both in the sense that these techniques will help to inspire cooks to learn more about socially responsible eating (seasonal eating) and also encourage people to cook and eat as a social activity to be enjoyed together.
We believe that modernist cuisine will enable us to be more creative and artistic in the kitchen and that the techniques will help to develop the food industry by improving the way people see cooking as a profession.
