Product Description

This Kurosaki Gyuto is a premium hand forged kitchen knife. The blade has a core of SG2 steel (R2) which is clad in stainless steel and has Tsuchimi (hammered) finish, which looks amazing and helps with food release. The cladding line is visible and the blade itself is razor sharp straight out of the box.

This Shizuku blade is fitted with a custom made ambidextrous, octagonal Wa (Japanese style) handle, which is constructed out of ebony and features a rare white buffalo horn ferule. The handle has a good length to it, which means it will be comfortable for just about any size hand and the octagonal shape gives an ergonomic feel.

The craftsmanship on all of Yu Kurosaki’s knives is fantastic and the fit and finish on this knife is no exception. This knife is super thin (1.5mm-2.5mm) and light for a Gyuto of this size. Kurosaki san has ground the spine and choil (heal) to provide a smooth and comfortable feel to the blade itself. The balance on this Kurosaki Gyuto is just forward of the choil and gives the knife a comfortable and nimble feel while using a pinch grip, which is typical of the Shizuku range.
