With many years and hundreds of blades behind him, Milan Gravier’s reputation as one of the world’s finest traditional knife makers is unquestionably established. As is the case with 99% of the blades that Milan forges this knife is hand finished on whetstones. The quality of this finish is of an exceptionally high standard. A foundation of performance is primary to Milan’s process. The bevels are convex, fine, consistent, and ready to go to work.
This knife has been finished using an etching technique that Milan has developed for his top tier, signature deep etched twist Damascus blades. The process reveals unique textural elements in the beautiful wrought iron cladding. As light passes over the deep black kurouchi finish it reveals these textural elements to stunning effect. The blade also features a contrast rich and beautiful Kasumi polish on the bevels completing the finish on this exceptional piece of craftsmanship.
The knife is finished with a forged integral bolster and hidden tang black palm handle. Tasteful, exceptionally beautiful and with outstanding performance built in.
